Game Summary

The Denver Nuggets took a commanding 3-2 lead in their Western Conference series against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 112-97 victory in Game 5 on Saturday night. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 41 points and 15 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards, who had been averaging over 30 points per game in the series, was held to just 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting.

The Timberwolves came out strong in the first quarter, taking an early 10-point lead. However, the Nuggets slowly chipped away and eventually took the lead late in the second quarter. Denver never trailed again, extending their lead to as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter.

In addition to Jokic's big night, Aaron Gordon added 24 points for the Nuggets. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell scored 21 points.

The series now shifts back to Minneapolis for Game 6 on Monday night. The Timberwolves will need a win to force a Game 7, while the Nuggets can close out the series with another victory.
